After the Gorilla Trek, on arrival in Nairobi we met up with our fellow ‘Dream Team’ to become the Magnificent Migration 13 and wow, what a wonderful Migration Safari we had. We travelled from Nairobi across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru and enjoyed our first glimpse of life in Kenya, travelling through many towns filled with colourfully dressed locals going about this daily lives.

A small group aptly named the ‘Silverback Six’ flew with Emirates via Nairobi on to Kigali in Rwanda. The next morning we transferred by road across the Uganda border to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and our stunning accommodation at Trackers Safari Lodge. We all had to pinch ourselves as we looked out across the mist, hovering over the Rain Forest with the realisation that the following day we would be trekking into the natural habitat of the world-famous endangered Mountain Gorillas, only found here, in this remote corner of Uganda.

I recently returned from an amazing famil with Viking, on their 7 night itinerary called Niagara & The Great Lakes. This was onboard their explorer ship, the Viking Polaris and we sailed from Milwaukee to Toronto. The Great Lakes are a series of interlocking freshwater lakes, and the largest inland lakes in the world. At times when sailing, there was no land to be seen, so it actually felt like you were at sea, but without the sea sickness with its calm waters.
