Last week I attended a Cruise Conference in the ‘desert’ at stunning Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Sounds strange I know, but it was a fantastic backdrop and if you haven’t been to our Red Centre, I highly recommend putting it on your list of must see destinations!
There are many fabulous experiences on offer such as the stunning Field of Lights, originally installed in 2016 for a short temporary exhibition, which has now been extended indefinitely. I would highly recommend seeing it both at sunrise and sunset, as the beautiful Uluru sandstone monolith appears and disappears behind the colourful lights.

Some highlights include evening dinners under the stars (one with a spectacular drone show), incredible stargazing in the clearest skies, walk, bike, segway around Uluru, see Uluru & Kata Tjuta (Olgas) from the air, caves and cave art, waterholes and so many other cultural experiences to enjoy.
There is an array of different types of accommodation available in the small township of Yulara which is a 15-minute drive from the airport and 25 minutes from Uluru. In addition to the restaurants at the hotels, the Town Square has a couple of café/restaurants, an IGA supermarket, a post office, art galleries and some local shops.
I would also recommend adding in additional time to take in Kings Canyon, MacDonnell Ranges and Alice Springs. I really loved it and am happy to share some more pictures to showcase the beautiful colours and highlights. If this has inspired you, get in touch with one of our team who will happily get you there!
